Gallery otafuku is run by Noriko Shinkawa, wife of Seiji Shinkawa, founder of SHINKAWA Jewelry. The museum exhibits Otafuku dolls that have been collected from around the country for over 50 years. After she had a miscarriage of their fourth child, her husband Seiji gave her a gift to make her smile. I was given an Otafuku doll whose build resembles mine. Since then, I have collected over 700 dolls, both large and small, which I received from people on my travels. We are exhibiting traditional Japanese dolls with the hope of creating a chain of smiles for people all over the world.
